Il grilletto è pure più largo dell’originale, e privo della leva di sicura tipica delle armi Glock; trascurando l’estetica, l’appoggio del dito è buono, grazie anche ad una superficie lievemente irregolare.

 I comandi sono spartani come nella vera Glock 23, e si limitano a grilletto, leva dell’hold open, pulsante di sgancio del caricatore, e leve bilaterali per lo smontaggio. Hold Open e sgancio caricatore sono posti sul lato sinistro, e non sono reversibili.

 Una caratteristica a dir poco strana (ma condivisa con le repliche targate Tokyo Marui) è la sicurezza a cursore. La placchetta col finto numero di serie, spinta all’indietro, blocca il meccanismo di scatto e mette in sicurezza la pistola; peccato che per disinserirla occorra usare entrambe le mani, in una manovra per niente agevole. Un dispositivo che a mio avviso trova una utilità pratica, almeno nel gioco dell’airsoft, molto limitata.

Il rifornimento del gas alla valvola avviene tramite un foro sul fondello, e senza necessità di rimuovere questo ultimo come nelle repliche KWA / LSC. La valvola ha una doppia guarnizione che evita il classico sbuffo al riempimento del serbatoio.
Per caricare i BB, si abbassa l’elevatore, e li si introduce dallo spazio fra le labbra. La capienza è di 20 pallini.

 Mentre compivo tutte queste osservazioni preliminari, mi si formava l’impressione di trovarmi davanti ad una replica di livello non eccelso, sia esteticamente che funzionalmente. 
La mia valutazione è cambiata del tutto sin da quando ho sparato il primo caricatore, e mi sono visto rendere una rosata di tutto rispetto, anzi da iscrivere fra le migliori mai avute in repliche di pistole con inner barrel corte.
 

Dopo aver rifornito il caricatore di gas e BB, l’ho inserito nel suo alloggiamento; per farlo agganciare dal suo ritegno, ho dovuto forzare lievemente verso l’alto, sino a percepire il click che mi segnalava l’ingaggio.

 

La G23 si impugna bene, anche se, come le Glock vere o replicate, l’impugnatura è un po’ magra sui fianchi. A rendere la presa più salda penso siano anche le dimensioni maggiorate delle zigrinature.

 

Armando il carrello, si ottiene in risposta un bel rumore metallico, ed una confortante sensazione di solidità. 
La corsa del grilletto è un po’ ruvida, ma leggera. La precorsa è di 5 millimetri, a cui se ne aggiungono altri 4 di retroscatto. 
Il punto di rilascio del cane è ben intuibile, e permette un ottimo controllo nella fase culminante del tiro.
La sensazione di rinculo è netta e abbastanza consistente.

 

Nei test che ho effettuato, non ho avuto alcun malfunzionamento, ed ho ottenuto a 4 metri una rosata larga 38 ed alta 43 millimetri. Con occhi e mani migliori dei miei, è possibile ottenere ancora di più.
Per capire la ragione di questa performance, occorre andare al cuore della KJW G23, ossia alla sua meccanica, che pur presentando elementi simili ad altre marche, è stata perfezionata.

 

Per descrivere la scomposizione, rimando alla sequenza fotografica, sottolineando che, quale primo passo, è necessario armare il cane interno. Le repliche airsoft di Glock tecnicamente non riprendono il sistema di scatto a percussore lanciato dell’arma vera austriaca, ma sono a singola azione ed a cane interno.

 Una volta separato il carrello dal castello, e nel rimuovere la molla con la sua guida, si nota che l’asta, con la sua guida anteriore, è in metallo, ed ha posteriormente una appendice, che si impegna in un alloggiamento ricavato nello zoccolo dell’inner barrel; la guida metallica anteriore è sagomata in modo da allinearsi correttamente all’outer barrel. 
Questa soluzione rende molto più stabile il complesso delle parti, e credo abbia non poca importanza nel permettere le prestazioni di precisione che ho rilevato.

 Procedendo nella scomposizione, noto che inner ed outer barrel non sono vincolate, ma libere di scorrere l’una entro l’altra, e quindi il rinculo e l’oscillazione dell’outer barrel influisce molto meno sulla stabilità dell’inner barrel. L’hop up è in stile Marui, comandato da una rotellina, e regolabile dopo aver separato carrello e fusto.
L’organizzazione meccanica di tiro alla fine diventa il vero punto di pregio di questa G23, e fa passare in secondo ordine sia la valutazione estetica, sia quella sicura a cursore…

 Tirando le somme, la G23 di AOS – KJW si è rivelata una sorpresa gradita: un vero strumento da gioco, robusto, affidabile e con prestazioni di tutto rispetto.
Le ridotte dimensioni consentono di portarla addosso senza difficoltà, e la buona dose di parti metalliche rassicura sulla sua durata.
La vedo come una ottima pistola da back up per softgunners, ma anche come un bello strumento per il tiro di precisione ed il plinking. 
La stimo meno idonea all’amatore delle repliche da collezione, sia per alcune libertà nella riproduzione, che per il vistoso marchio del distributore. 

 Summing up, the AOS - KJW G23 it has been a pleasant surprise: a real playing instrument, robust, reliable and showing respectable performance.Its small size allows it to be taken without difficulty, and a good dose of metal parts assures its durability.I see it as a good gun as softgunners back up, but also a good tool for target shooting and plinking.
I will estimate it to be less suitable to the collectors replicas amateur, for some freedom in reproduction, and for the flashy distributor logo.
