TCI 4182- Technical Information Sheet DESCRIPTION: 4182 Lacquer Primer 4182 is a high quality one-component primer surfacer. 4182 dries quickly and has good sanding and filling properties. It may be used under acrylic lacquers, acrylic enamels, alkyd enamels, urethane enamels and basecoat/clearcoat systems. INSTRUCTIONS: Sand original finish with medium grit sandpaper Clean all area with wax and grease remover Surface should be clean and dry before applying product Spray two or three medium coats of 4182, allowing each coat to flash to a dull appearance before applying the next coat. For best results force dry or allow to air dry for one hour before sanding 4181 can be block or machine sanded with P320 or P400, or wet sanded with P400 or P500 grit before applying topcoat GENERAL: 4182 Appearance -White Liquid Viscosity -Full Bodied Shelf Life -One Year (unopened) VOC -4.5 lb/gal (540 g/L) Pot Life -30 – 60 Minutes @ 75˚ F Product size -One gallon or quart cans PRODUCT MIXING: Mix one part 4182 with 1½ parts by volume lacquer thinner or urethane reducer. A reduction range of between 1:1 and 1:2 may be used depending on the desired viscosity and build. SUBSTRATES: Coat large bare metal, steel & aluminum areas with proper self-etching sealer Recommended substrate temperatures: 50˚ F – 100˚ F.
