I bought these for use in my workshop for finishing. When you use finish from a can, ideally you should dispense the finish you need into another container to avoid contaminating the entire can should you pick up something from the surface you are finishing (color bleed, dust, etc.). I bought these cups for that very purpose when finishing small-ish items turned on my wood lathe.These cups are just the right size to hold some shellac or O.B. Shine Juice for finishing, without me having to worry about debris or other contamination in the can. They are also inexpensive enough that I do not have to worry about the cost of throwing a used cup away (although I will reuse the same cup for the same finish if I am doing multiple pieces one after the other – no sense in wasting). I would rather use a paper type of cup for this purpose, but have not found any that are inexpensive enough to use for a relatively short period of time that also stand up to the finish I put in them. When these eventually run out, I will be looking to buy another pack since they fit my needs well.I cannot comment on whether the lids leak or not, as they are not really needed for my use.
