5Star-TD Boxing Punching Speed Ball Boxing Bag Anti Stress Fitness with Boxing Glove for Teenagers and Adults Adjustable 48′ to 59′ in Height New
This is great. I think it is mostly meant for teenagers, but adults can use it too if you are not too tall. I am 5’8″ and it is a good height for me, though I do have it on the tallest setting. The height is adjustable downward. There is no resistance to it at all, so you can’t punch it very hard, but it is fun to work on for speed and accuracy. I had not been in a gym for a long time and hadn’t worked out on a bag, and I was surprised how sloppy my high kicks had gotten. Assembling it was somewhat challenging, as mine did not have instructions, just a picture on the box that was too small to see the details very well. To the best of my recollection, this is how you should assemble it. Based on the pictures, I thought the first step was to fill the base with sand. (You can get 50 pound bags of sand at the hardware store.) However, I think it was a mistake to fill it all the way with sand before assembling the base, because I ended up having to turn it upside down to fit the pole into the base, and it is quite heavy when it is full. You could maybe put a little sand in to start with, then fill it all up as the final step. In the box I received, the parts were not labeled and I had to figure out what goes where. There are a couple of larger metal rings that come with it, and smaller metal rings called washers. I believe the larger metal rings fit around the pole, at the points where the pole is inserted through the plastic base, and the purpose is for the metal to insulate the plastic from the push and pull of the pole when you are using the punching bag. I remember that I forgot to put the large metal rings on the first time I assembled it, so I had to take it apart and do it over, which was a pain. The plug thing fits very tightly into the base and I had overfilled the base with sand, so getting it apart again was a challenge, and I do recommend that you try not to make the same mistake as I did. Sorry I cannot describe this step in more detail, but I did not write this review right away, so my memory is not as sharp on this as I would like it to be. I believe the small metal washers go between the bolt or screw, and the other metal surface, and the purpose is to help it take stress. I am wondering if some of the people who report the punching bag broke after one use, had not correctly inserted the metal rings and washers. It is important that you fit all the parts where they go, and not end up with extra stuff left over at the end because you couldn’t figure out where it was supposed to go. If you are not mechanically inclined (as I am not), it may take you a few minutes to figure this out, but persevere and you will succeed. Also, there was a small loose needle-like part in the box that turned out to be the inflation pin that you need for the little bicycle pump that comes with it. You put the hollow pin on the bicycle pump and stick the end of the pin in the bag, and pump it full of air. I would have liked it better if all the parts were labeled & diagrammed, but I did figure it out. The little rubber plug that is supposed to go in the top of the red bag was broken, but that is really just a dust cap and you don’t really need it to keep the bag inflated. So basically, this is an excellent product with not-so-great assembly instructions.
