1600 Lumen Bike Light T1600, 5000mAh USB Type-C Rechargeable Bike Headlight, IPX6 Waterproof Bicycle Front Light for Road, Urban,Mountain Night Riding

So, I have multiple bikes and needed multiple lights, as well as lights for different applications. This light’s case is of metal construction and the light has a solid well built feel in the hand. It also has a better than decent bar mounting system for simply mounting on the bars, and that allows for mounting above the bars or underneath. This bar mount is also of a design that requires no tools to install or remove, which I prefer over some of the others I have that require an Allen wrench. And it also includes the Go-Pro style mount that allows it to mount underneath a computer mount. The bar mount can be installed on the bars and left in place, while the light can be removed and installed to the mount with a simple twist. I find the twist lock mechanism to be positive and secure when the light is installed. I also really like the way the mount portion that attaches to the light itself is configurable so that the light can be ran right side up regardless of if it’s mounted below, or above. Some other lights with both over or under mounting options will be inverted when mounted below, and this puts the button inconveniently on the bottom of the light, and makes the cut-off not work properly which means you’re blinding people coming the opposite direction. While I cannot attest to the actual light output or that it is actually the 1600 lumens the manufacturer claims, I can say that I find the amount of light produced, as well as, and perhaps just as importantly, the spread of the light to be very good. It has three brightness levels and I find them all to be useful, depending on the application and needs at the time, and to be appropriately “spaced”. In addition to the three main ON beam settings, it has two “flashing” settings for conspicuity to others… One is more of a slow “breathing” rhythmical pattern, and the other is an asymmetric true flash. By “asymmetric” I mean it isn’t s solid and evenly spaced flash pattern but more irregular in it’s on/off intervals. I believe these irregular flashing patterns can be more attention grabbing to some individuals and make them “see” you better. As you can probably tell by how many times I’ve used the word “like” in the above, that I really like this light. In fact, I like it so much that after using this one a bit I ordered this light after trying the 1000 lumen version. Not because I necessarily needed a brighter light as that the higher lumen version does have more battery capacity and therefore will provide somewhat longer run times when used on the lower settings. Not, that I really need longer run times… but still… Well, it’s really probably because I’m just sort of a bike gear nerd and like good stuff when I find it. So, after the first one was as good as it is, I decided to get the second one as a spare, or for use on another bike, and well… Just because…If there is a negative, and for me it’s not really a negative, but still something some may want to consider, it would be the size and weight. Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s not like this light is huge, or obscenely heavy or anything. In fact, it’s pretty much the same as other higher output lights of this type that produce a lot of light, have a good size battery, a durable metal case, solid mounts, etc. But, not everyone needs a light of this type. If riding at night, or if you prize durability, and want a long lasting light for hours in the saddle in situation where you need a light, or even if you just want to use it on multiple shorter rides without needing to recharge it after each ride, then this light is a good one. If on the other hand, you want something compact, lightweight, with a less durable plastic case, and a shorter battery life, there are other options available for this need. In fact, I have lights of both types. But somehow, the lights like this end up on my bikes more often than the smaller lighter versions. You be the judge about your own priorities and needs. Just giving food for thought.I hope someone finds the review at least somewhat useful and helpful
